The Warren Buffett 5/25 Method

Legend has it Warren Buffett once gave an employee some advice on how to lead a successful life. This advice became known as the 5/25 Method.

Warren told the employee to write down 25 things he'd like to accomplish in life. The employee returned with his list. Warren then told him to go back and prioritize the list in order of importance. It took a little while, but the employee came back with his list; all 25 things he hoped to accomplish in order of importance.

Then Warren told him to only focus on his top 5 and completely forget about the other 20. This doesn't mean the employee shouldn't ever get to the other 20. Just not before he accomplishes his top 5.
